Which colour would you suggest to go with this furniture for a calm and relaxing bedroom?

I'm thinking joas white and pointing but would love some ideas, I have a whole house to do and it's not my forte. House is Georgian if that helps.
Thank you

NahItsOkTa - now personally, I find Cunt Flaps too architectural in feel, although it can work vey well with a few really strong strokes of Downpipe, especially when on top of a kitchen island. Then finish off with Schoolgirl's Blushes.

Hemlockinthegarden - Badger's tadger... hm, yes you could go that way, but I think it's probably a little too similar to Trolling Taupe which OP has already discounted. However, I'd never advise Trophy-wife sputum, as it's just far too close to Condescending Posting and Antifeminist Vitriol, which just seem so dated these days, don't you think?

MuttonCadet · 24/11/2015 22:31

That grey looks quite green, I think you need to go with a cool grey / plain white to work best.

NahItsOkTa · 24/11/2015 22:40

Hahaha brilliant cunningplan that's made my night.

Cornforth White is great- varies between grieg and grey, very soft depending on light and changes as light changes- has a lillac hint somewhere in it. String is also lovely and fab in a room with lots of light- changes constantly.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/11/2015 22:50

James White has a bit of green in it, Dh used it on the fireplace surround against Manor House Grey but it still goes, it's a cool white in our living room.

It was meant to be Wimborne White which is on the shoe cabinet, but that's quite a warm white. I cant imagine it next to soft grey.

Have you actually got the bed yet? once it's in the room it might look totally different in the light.

We have a Georgian house, white walls/wooden floor type interior - we used Pointing on all the walls and ceilings, and it's a fabulous white with the architecture and light. It also works well with pretty much any other colour next to it so excellent as a neutral base. We painted all the interior woodwork - shutters/picture rails/bookshelves in Wimborne White so there wasn't a 'flat' effect from all the white. We then added colour with furniture/records/books/Persian carpets. Definitely recommend 'Pointing', very calm!!

DickDewy · 25/11/2015 20:07

I agree Pointing is lovely.

Our kitchen used to be Wimborne White - it's a gorgeous creamy white. It is now All White, which is much brighter and a better contrast with our grey kitchen units, imo.

I tried James' White (too green) and Cornforth White (very grey).

How does pointing compare to Wimborne white? Had just settled on slipper satin with Wimborne for wood/ceilings etc thanks!

I find it ever so slightly warmer and deeper as a colour than Wimbourne White, so the walls etc don't jump out, but the sections that are Wimbourne White 'lift' it a little, if that makes any sense?! I can try and post some pics later if you want.

cunningplan101 · 26/11/2015 14:18

Yes pointing just a bit warmer than WW, while WW a bit crisper.

e.g. I used pointing on some alcove shelving/cupboards against Stone Blue walls, and the pointing really helped to lift and warm the Stone Blue.

While on most of my other woodwork, I've used WW, and it gives a crisp contrast against the coloured walls, helps to define the colour, which I like a lot.

But the difference is very slight.

Another (non) colour to maybe think about is White Tie - it's a very pretty, warm, off-white. I have it in a north facing study, and it really brightens it up.

cunningplan101 · 26/11/2015 14:21

(White Tie on the walls - not the woodwork)

RusholmeRuffian · 26/11/2015 20:58

Pick an F&B colour and then find a branch of Brewers and get them to match the colour with a better quality paint. F&B is poor quality and overpriced
