calling PIGLET JOHN, advice please

Our bathroom toilet is currently blocked, water ( and poo) to the brim, have tried plunger, coat hanger, flexible piece of hose but no movement. We believe the U bend is clear, bath runs freely on same drain, we think blockage must beyond the U bend. Please help , we are a family of 6 and using a bucket is not fun, thank you so much

Worth trying the 'plastic-carrier-bag-over-a-mop-head' - scoop out as much water as you can first then use the mop and bag as a plunger. Worked for us when all else had failed, including v expensive plumber's chemical drain unblocker stuff. (Ours had been blocked for a week so I was pretty desperate.)

go outside the house. Can you see the soil pipe on the outside wall of the house? Does the bath waste connect to it, or does it go to a hopper or gully?

Meanwhile start asking local friends and neighbours for a recommended plumber. Don't phone anyone with an 0800 or 0870 number. You are looking for an established local business with a local geographic number, and an actual address.

Don't tip chemicals down it. If there is a complete blockage they will not be able to flow down the blocked pipe to it, and they may be dangerous to the plumber.

How old is the plumbing?

We believe there is an internal stack/soil pipe, we've cleaned the waste pipe from the toilet to the stack but the block is still there. The bath waste and sink waste go in further down , we think to the same soil pipe.

you could try a plumber's snake.

If there is an internal stack blocked part way, it might be a wad of bogroll, or a flannel, possibly caught up on a toy or doll.

It's clear! It was the connection between the down pipe and the sewage pipe from the toilet, DH reckons it was years of gunk, toilet paper, sanitary goods, baby wipes, gross! But thank goodness we are fully functioning again

baby wipes and sanpro are not flushable

Just make sure you've given it a good flush through (no pun intended) or if anything is left it might block again.
