'Matching Sets' part of home insurance

My home insurance is due and while getting quotes I realised that my current cover and about 95% of companies I have had quotes from don't cover for 'Matching Sets'.
I had always assumed if I needed to claim for say a three piece suite that the whole thing would be replaced but now realise that I would end up with an odd chair.
My current insurer is quoting £275 (no matching sets), I can get a policy elsewhere for £200 (no matching sets) or £313 which includes the matching sets.
Is it worth paying nearly £100 extra just for this extra cover?

depends on the age of your suite, as an example. For me, sitting on one of a pair of £50 ebay sofas, it would not be!!

Good point, thanks.
Interestingly everyone that I have spoken to about it had all assumed the same as me that their insurance would replace a matching set and found out that they were wrong.

it's been like that for ages...

reading insurance policy small print is not very rock 'n roll but much of real life tends not to be.

I don't bother with it and I spent years working in insurance claims! In reality it is only going to come into play if you accidentally damage one part of a set. In that event, often you can get a reasonable match through using reupholstered. Of course if you had a flood or fire all items are likely to be equally damaged and therefore replaced. I guess if you had lots of expensive matching furniture it might be worth it.
