Ikea appliances - thoughts?

My instinct says no (based on nothing), but I'm curious. Does anyone have any Ikea appliances and what do you reckon?

About to have a whole new kitchen and I will need all the appliances (except washing machine), so looking at various options. It's not our forever home... 3 more years tops (should that make a difference?).

My friend had an Ikea oven, and in the middle of the night, the door shattered in a million pieces. Ikea were really good and replaced it plus gave her a load of vouchers. It took a while to sort out, though. I would do it, but I am quite likely to buy cheap appliances, I get so disappointed if expensive ones fail.

We had an Ikea kitchen fitted 2 years ago. It is the old style kitchen and the appliances were all Whirlpool in Ikea. We chose our own Whirlpool appliances but double checked the dimensions.

We have been more than happy with them, we have an oven and a combi microwave. They are touch screen ones (we didn't want buttons protruding) and we use them both daily.

We had Ikea's built in extractor as it is one that fits inside a cupboard. Again, no problems.

Our kitchen (just been raving about it on another ikea kitchen thread) is same thing - had to redo as so awful and had damp problems (so had to gut kitchen to find/treat damp problems) but only in this house for another couple of years. So therefore went with everything ikea in order to save costs even on installation etc (used ikea fitter so he was well used to everything). Can only tell you on brief use as obviously quite new, but everything (oven, hob, extractor, dishwasher, already had washing machine and free standing fridge) surprisingly good quality - gas hob like a furnace. dishwasher (slimline) seems especially effective SO FAR please god may nothing explode in the night!

the only thing the fitter changed was the extractor flue (that spiral tube thing) as he said from experience the one from trade suppliers cheaper and better.

We have an IKEA built in fridge(FROSTIG), extractor and dishwasher. Dishwasher we went for because you really need their dishwasher if you want to have one built in with the METOD system, extractor because it was conveineient and fridge because I liked the name Grin To be fair the fridge was comparable in cost to other options. They are so far very good indeed, although the dishwasher is a bit smaller than I would have liked. We bought our own hob and oven as I was picky about those - I wanted Siemens.
