What is your choice of neutral hallway paint colour?

We need something neutral. We have about 30 tester pots tried all on the wall already! Am not sure though. It's not a big hallway.
We have Snowfall in the living room and Egyptian Cotton in bedrooms. So I guess we should have some other type of neutral in hallway as the stair runner will be colourful.

I've found the F&B has worn really well - got away with pretty much one coat of it too.

Dulux (trade) Swansdown. Every time. Can't go wrong.

No, it's the Endurance. It doesn't look shiny in my hallway, but there's very little natural light so I'm not sure I'd be able to tell necessarily.

Ok I am now going to go and out and buy yet more tester pots. Is Timeless a beige / magnolia shade?
I want something with a warm tone to it. Smile

F&B has worn ok in our house- one toddler and a baby - we have just redecorated the 'high traffic' areas after 3 years. We wanted a cheap, harder wearing dulux but couldn't find a neutral shade that wasn't too purple/pink based, so went with f&b Oxford stone.

We have F&B in Cornforth White (pale grey). I love the colour - it looks fresh against the white woodwork, and it has worn well in the hallway (which takes less of a battering than our living room). We also have it in the living room and have had to touch it up many times. It doesn't wipe down well, which is a problem with two boys under 3.

Have just decorated with a half and half mix of Little Greene's Slaked Lime Mid and Slaked Lime Deep - a perfect neutral - greyish tones (but not too much) and beige tones (but not too much). And they do an Absolute flat matt which has been great for hiding imperfections on our walls as absolutely no reflections.

Elsewhere we have Little Green's french grey mid but that is in south facing rooms and our hall is north facing so didn't want it to look too grey.
We just mixed it ourselves because we had bought the slaked lime mid but then decided it was too pale but our local specialist paint shop would hav actually mixed it for us - if you're worried about doing that.

I'm a big fan of mixing paints as standard colours are rarely perfect, but if you do you need to be careful about measuring exact proportions

Try very pale pink, like Dulux Cocoa Blush 6 or Wild Mushroom 6.

The former is quite a cool pink: used here.

Cracked Clay 4 is also nice, and warmer. Very pale pink is a very nice backdrop and surprisingly versatile.

Sorry, the link above shows the wrong colour.

This is it.

Dulux Almost Oyster for me. Slight pinkish tint so it looks lovely and warm.

F&B Slipper Satin. Gorgeous colour. Lovely timeless very light beige/grey/off white.

Sleepybeanbump · 21/10/2015 15:44

Timeless is VERY pale. Virtually white. Def not beige / magnolia.

If you want warm look at F&B Dimity / Joa's White / Oxford Stone family of colours.

We have Dulux Natural Calico. I tested Egyptian Cotton and Timeless and it was too bland for me. Natural Calico gives natural brightness which is so needed in the hallway and landing, but does not have any yellowness which I prefer.
The rest of the house is Natural Hessian, purple (from previous owners) and white.

Use F&B modern emulsion not estate. Cleans easily and resists scuffing I find.
