I love it but feel quite stressed looking at it.

I must be an average person then!Smile

thestylethatdecadesforgot · 16/10/2015 14:13

Oh wow I love it! Agree it's far too cluttered at present but empty it would be lovely Smile

crystalgall · 16/10/2015 14:29

They must have some very famous/expensive art in there because it looks to me like they have blacked out a lot of the wall art? It just doesn't make sense that they would have so many blank grey/black/white slabs on the wall so they must be hiding the art under there...stop people from coming and nicking it perhaps?!

LucyInTheSkyWithDonuts · 16/10/2015 14:29

It looks like the very expensive version of IKEA! It's the sort of thing I think looks great but would be a total pain to actually live with. And over £3 million!

crystalgall · 16/10/2015 14:31

But empty there would be nothing there except concrete and a steel kitchen. There's not much in the way of features...some concrete stairs, a winding one, a huge expanse of space and a nice roof garden. What else is there that warrants the price?!

HeighHoghItsBacktoWorkIGo · 16/10/2015 16:24

A lot of the description points towards serious money being spent on details that the average person wouldn't appreciate or need but a would protect the collection.

I wonder if they will get their price? Most home buyers are decidedly average. The pool of buyers willing to pay for these sophisticated details must be very small.

lalalonglegs · 16/10/2015 17:09

It is a very specialized property - it seems to be full of those museum storage cupboards that sort of roll apart and are used to store art and artefacts in humidity/temperature controlled environment. I think it would definitelyf ind a buyer who, at that price range, would probably want to gut it and start again. That'sp time London for you.

Preminstreltension · 16/10/2015 17:15

Hate it. If the stuff wasn't so tasteful, the house would be a candidate for one of those programmes about people with a hoarding problem.

House plants give me the creeps anyway. And the roof terrace looks pretty ordinary considering it's been designed by a "famous" landscape gardener.

IWasHereBeforeTheHack · 16/10/2015 19:34

What's with the weird upside down things in photo 4? The picture look the wrong way up and there seems to be a coat defying gravity

Yes that just adds to the stressful feel, IMO.

I wondered for a moment if it was actually a shop.

What's with all the baskets under the table?

It's also just too open plan for me.

Someone has put an awful lot of work into it. I hope they find a like-minded buyer. But I'm out!

IWasHereBeforeTheHack · 16/10/2015 19:37

Well, I think it's just a collection of, er, empty frames. Not my thing but I'm sure it will appeal to someone.

Iwanttobeadog · 16/10/2015 19:42

We've got that roller racking at work. Take away the flowers and it's an awful lot like my office

eurochick · 16/10/2015 19:47

I don't like it at all. It's very impersonal, despite all the tat. I'm very curious who it belongs to.

AlisonWunderland · 16/10/2015 19:51

Wow.
It's just one big room with a bed at the end.

I'm amazed that the agent hasn't included photos of the two downstairs studios... They represent at least a third of the space, ie a million quid

NationMcKinley · 16/10/2015 19:55

Be a fucker to pack when / if they sell. Imagine the amount of bubble wrap that'll be needed Confused

SwedishEdith · 16/10/2015 20:34

I think I love it but couldn't live there - it's like an extremely stylish holiday home. Or, a branch of Heal's or Anthropologie.

RaphaellaTheSpanishWaterDog · 16/10/2015 23:22

It's definitely not my style, but I think it's interesting - I'd much rather see a property that looks different and expresses the owner's personality than somewhere bland and devoid of stuff character Wink

Our house is full of collections, that most posters would probably consider to be clutter, but it's stuff we have put together over several years and all has special meaning to us.....and yes, we needed reams of bubble wrap/tissue when we moved!

Nonnainglese · 17/10/2015 11:43

Looks like it's been designed by a committee with no taste.

PitilessYank · 17/10/2015 13:28

I adore modern living spaces, but the clutter is distracting. It would help is the plants were larger, and there were fewer of them.

Our house is mid-century modern, with tall white walls, but we have very colorful furniture to break it up.

Nowombattheinn · 17/10/2015 13:34

It looks like a shop, full of overpriced items that you feel you want to buy some of, but don't need any of it. Just too much 'stuff'!

hairbrushbedhair · 17/10/2015 13:41

I thought it was a garden centre

That's what it feels like, a garden centre with lots of concessions

AgentProvocateur · 17/10/2015 13:45

I absolutely love it. I could happily live there (if I had a spare £3.8m!)

5BlueHydrangea · 17/10/2015 13:46

How much??? Ouch. Really not to my taste. Doesn't look lived in. I like a bit of clutter (well I live surrounded by it so I guess I do) but.. And it would all disappear magically if we were selling the house! Quitegobsmacked at the price for frankly not a lot.

Although that filing system would be good here, somewhere.. Books!!

TheCrowFromBelow · 17/10/2015 13:49

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be doing my own dusting if I could afford to own that place Grin

JeffreySadsacIsUnwell · 17/10/2015 13:54

I didn't think anyone had more shit than we do. We have a hell of a lot of books and art too, but not quite so much in the way of little knick-knacky things and textile/draped things. I think it's the overwhelming presence of THINGS in that house that makes me feel quite claustrophobic.

I quite like much of their stuff individually, and I like the house itself but en masse, it's just too much. Anyway, I don't get the impression the stuff is for sale!

WindyMillersProbationOfficer · 17/10/2015 14:00

The first photo looks like the photo frame aisle in Boots, with some garden furniture salvaged from a skip.
