Can you see potential in this house?

I found this property on the Rightmove Android app and wanted you to see it: www.rightmove.co.uk/s6p/35664819

It is in a great little village with great schools.
Obviously needs complete overhaul but can you see the potential. Dh and I can but my mother is having a complete hissy fit saying we are really upseting her talking abput buying 'a bloody shed stuck on to the back of another house' and moving 'her grandkids' into it! Hmm

Is that Pa as in Dad or Pa as in personal assistant? Wish I had one of those!!
My Dad has converted an old stable block of similar construction so he knows what needs to be done. His only issues with it is the fact it isn't detached and it's in a conservation village which he knows will limit what can be done. He is not throwing the toys out the pram about it unlike my mother, probably he remembers I am a 39 year old who has bought houses in the past and am fairly sensible! Grin

No I'm tending to agree with your dmum sorry. Damp, money pit, too much neglect/work.

Ok, firstly 70k is nowhere near enough for that amount of work. I'm a bit concerned you'll have to spend far more than the house could ever be inherently worth.

I would have though you could find another fixer upper in rural Stirling/Perthshire with less risk.

I assume this move won't impact your work? Gartmore isn't really handy for anything.

All in all, without having seen the house, I probably agree with your Mum.

However it's not my business. It's not your mother's either.

stop discussing it with her

If you want a builder's advice find someone who isn't your Dad and get them to visit the house and give a quotation. The owners will let you because quite frankly it's going to be a while before that house sells.

Sorry, if this isn't what you want to hear - you did ask.
