We've had 6 in August, 8 in July. I think that's pretty slow. We're SW and rural ish.

Depends on property, area and price. A couple of years ago I had 22 viewings in the first weekend. Three offers by Monday afternoon, one which led to completion. However, really nice period three bed semi, good area, good schools etc, priced to sell quickly. Could have held out for about twenty thousand more but wanted the house we are in now which I'd got for a good price too. Everything's relevant.

If it's sensibly priced I would expect a lot of interest in the early weeks, plus offers. Perhaps half a dozen viewings per week? As pp said, it depends on the market and the location also, of course.

Hmmmmm. Ok, thankyou all.

4 agents all said the same price so we went with that.

2 viewings in 5 weeks.

I work for an EA (but I'm not one of the aggressive agents, I do the office stuff before I get flamed!).

August is quiet and September it will pick up. If a house is priced right then there is usually a surge of interest when first listed and it will slow down a bit.

You want to put a link up for us to check out?

I had my house on the market in October 2013 priced at 245 had about 15 viewings in just over a month but only one low offer of 218, so I took it off. This time I listed end of May/June at 250 (altho the EA wanted to put it on at 260) again about 15 viewings but maybe only 3 weeks on the market & 5 offers & all considerably higher & I accepted 240.

our house was on the market for 3 weeks back in late April/May. We had about 25 viewings in that time. That's not representative of the market as a whole in my area though. We are just lucky to live in a very desirable lication and a house type/price most in demand.

It has been slow here (North West). We had very few viewings, but of those viewings all bar one wanted to offer but were waiting to sell their properties. One day a cash buyer offered just under the asking price, which we accepted.

So, very few viewings, but the right buyer came along at the right time. More viewings doesn't always equal more offers.

I think it depends on the area (down to the particular pocket) and the type of house. We are also in the North West, but market a bit crazy here, property is going within days - such is demand that "launch days" are becoming common place because its one day of viewings, several offers come in on the back of that and then it gets silly - lots going for more than the asking price. Properties come onto Rightmove already under offer. Not all, but standard 3 or 4 bed family houses.

But its very sought after because of schools and family homes at the "affordable" end of the market in the catchment areas of top schools don't come up too often.

I'm too scared to out myself by linking.

We've taken it off. I have restricted movement with no help as such and it was taking 9-10hrs of preparation & logistics to clean it for a viewing.

It was so stressful, I don't know how mentally and physically I can continue to either be here or leave it.

Thankyou all for your experiences & help.
