Whirlpool?

We are midway through planning a new bathroom. Do I want a whirlpool bath? Do you have one and if so is it noisy or a nightmare to clean?
There seems to be an air or water option. What on earth is the difference and what do I want?
I'm just so tempted by the idea of a kind of hot tub/bath chill out zone!!

sorry if this is a repeat, first post seems lost.
Ive tried a fair few in hotels, dont know if they were older ones, but they made quite a noise, but the worse thing was the vibrations through the floor (not a problem for me, but family). Also a better effect in wider baths. Personally I preferred a bath in a hotel that had various mood lighting and music options.

We had one put in by the previous owners in our last house. For all the thoughts of how great it would be we can't have used it more than once a year - if that!

If it's not used regularly the jets get dirty then you fill a bath, switch it on and all the gunk comes flying out.

Would never put one in myself.

Thanks. That sounds like a no then. I can't see the kids wanting the jets and I wouldn't use it all that often.
Shame!

Yes we just moved into a house with one and the black gunk coming out when we cleaned it was disgusting!

You need to clean it every few weeks by running it with a cleaning fluid in so I can see the water and gas bill rising a bit! I've told the boys they can only use it if they shower first Grin.

Air ones might be better as they wouldn't have bath water running through pipes? Not sure though as never seen one.

I don't really like baths much anyway.
