What would you do with the layout of my house?

Hi, just bought first house, set to move in mid August. The man we have bought the house off had a stroke two years ago so many pristine improvements to house including a newly refurbished wet room. I hate this wet room. It's tiny and I don't think it's where the original bathroom was. There is no room for a bath as he has moved the toilet from one side to another. There is a small wc downstairs which I think is where the old bathroom was. So my question is WWYD? I am considering converting downstairs into a bigger bathroom but it would then take away where we store our fridge and washing machine. Floor plan attached and probably a really bad description.

What would you do with the layout of my house?

Just wanted to add a thought!

Whilst you're saying you're planning on staying for the medium term, it doesn't sound like this is your "forever home"? With that in mind, I would do everything you can to keep the full bathroom on the upper floor, and if at all possible the loo downstairs too. I've recently bought, and there are a number of houses that looked lovely (as yours does, I love the kitchen!) but were immediately discounted as I couldn't stand the thought of traipsing through the kitchen and upstairs wrapped in a towel! It's probably not high on your priorities right now, but resale might be impacted by this!

No, not our forever home. First time buy at 21 and 23 just to get on the ladder/have room for a second baby. Yes we definitely don't want resell value to be impacted as we got a really good deal and if we did things right could sell on for more. We would be open to it being our forever home but it's on street parking.
