Orangery/conservatory

We're buying a new house and it needs a lot of work doing including a new kitchen. I really want to extend out the back of the house, adding an orangery or conservatory to be the dining room so its nice and bright. I'm trying to roughly budget now, so I was wondering if any lovely mumsnetters have had an orangery or conservatory recently and could suggest how much it cost? No one wants to quote on the house until we've moved in case it falls through.

Ours would be around 3.54m by 4.5m and we live in Sussex (if that impacts costs at all)

TIA Smile

We have a full glass panel conservatory and are sw, i think, def on the south somewhere. Its great but useable only from March to October! We would like to use our room more than 7 months of the year but it is basically like a tent on the back of our house.

From March, if there is a slightly sunny day, we open the door and the heat streams out to heat up kitchen and hall way.

We dot find it too hot, we have a huge window and 2 large doors to have wide open.

Like ladybird, we have budgeted around £30k to put in underfloor heating/roof/walls when the time comes to take this down (wont be long - 4/5 more years max).

If you dont have the budget to do a roofed room, definitely get as much wall as you can so the room is more useable all year round.

Yes, we want to use the room all year.

Will start looking for different quotes from when we move and play hard ball I think.
