Bath tiles

Hello. My bath has sealant which from time to time cracks, resulting in U.S. having to apply new sealant. This is causing trouble with the floorboards. I had someone come and have a look, and he said the tiles stop short of the bath, so the sealant is getting stretched more than it should resulting in the split sealant. How easy is this to rectify? He said the whole lot would need retiling (?). Could we put a row of tiles in ourselves or would we need to remove the bath, which is fitted in? Would welcome any advice, truly please

Fill the bath with water so it settles to it's lowest level (even better do this whilst having a bath) How big is the gap between the top of the bath and the bottom of the tiles?

You could always put some edging tiles around the bath like these

Thank you both for answering. The gap between is minimal, a couple of millimetres, but enough for water to seep through.

It is more likely that the bath hasn't been supported properly and is moving which breaks the seal. That size of gap should easily be sealed with silicon providing the bath doesn't move.

Oooh now I never considered that! How could I find out for sure, and how could it be rectified? Thank you for your help
