What's next?! New to the buying process.

Hello!
We have bought our dream home! Can someone tells me what happens next? I'm trying to not get to excited and I havnt really told anyone in rl as I know this is not a gaurentee. How many more hurdles have we got to go through?
We have:-
Agreed price and terms
Sold ours
Mortgage agreed
Valuation by bank done on our property
Valuation happening by the bank on new place.
Our mortgage broker has said everything is fine and he has "instructed" the next step?
So what's the next step? Sorry for being dense here I just have no idea the process of this.

House survey and all the environmental searches I would think would be next.

your solicitor needs to guide you through it all. Chase them up, ask about fixtures and fittings forms, consider dates.

So we still have a long way to go? This whole process is vile! I'm constantly praying everything's gunna be ok!

You have instructed someone to do the legals I hope!

You are buying and selling so, yes, a long way to go. Please be patient with the legal stuff - it takes time and your solicitor will be waiting on paperwork from both sides of the transaction.

Are either properties leasehold? If so, add on a month or so, as these are more complicated.

Yea we have someone doing all the legals for us. Hense me not knowing anything. Dh actually has a legal background and understands all of this. It's all like a foreign language to me and I'm just trying to understand it all as basically as possible.

you don't need a legal background. You have google!

look up 'England/Wales house buying process' (assuming that is where you are ) and get informed. reallymoving is a good site but there are many others.

once finances are agreed it goes roughly:

• searches (locality, environment, water and so on). Also ask around to check on that bypass that is in the works or the person next door who has had permission refused three times for a monster extension and is going to try again
• fixtures and fittings: the formal agreement of what stays and what goes
• survey; you organise that.
• dates; allow at least a week and preferably two between exchange and completion.
• deposit
• if all well: exchange. Then it is all going to happen.
• completion: moving day.

keep nagging and chasing. Start decluttering, get insurance quotes for the new property (you need to insure it from exchange), get removals quotes and provisional dates. But book NOTHING until you have exchange.
