French doors - one full size, one half size

Somewhere I have seen french doors which have one normal full size door and one half size. Both opening normally.

I've Googled and Googled and Googled but can't find them anywhere.

Did I dream it? Does such a thing exist?!

Do you mean like this?

French doors - one full size, one half size

I have it on one of my doors : just ask your independent window supply company : they can build the frames in any measurements you like.

Although Jeldwen don't have this particular configuration on their web site, they can do bespoke sizes in some of the French Doors. Usually a small side "window" is non opening but I suspect you could get a hinged one if you pay a bit extra for it.

We have each door the same size and they look pretty good to me. What is the advantage of one wider and one narrower door? Looks a bit lop sided to me.

Just like that pink but with a handle on the small one!

I should have said it's for an external door, not sure if that makes a difference or not?

Milly I have my heart set on french doors opening onto my patio from my kitchen but the space is extremely tight. It would be used as a front door as parking is at the end of the garden. The overall width of the doors could only be 4ftish which means each door would be too narrow to get through with bags etc when only one is open. So I think this would be a good compromise.

Unless anyone else has a clever idea?

Have a bifold - will look balanced but open as much/as littel as you want

I googled 'asymmetrical doors' if that helps.

Thanks, I hadn't tried that one!
