Just about to start an extension... what did you spend your contingency on?!

I'll probably regret asking.... but hit me with it!

I should say expenses included additional steels, underpinning, new retaining wall, drainage, digging out metres of concrete, demolishing and rebuilding a structure and removing a chimney.

Foundations being deeper than originally thought, drains not having enough drop (which meant we had to alter position of drains in next door's garden! We're lucky we have fab neighbours!), extra repairs to roof...

They've done 90% of the work, coming back in the summer to do the knock through. Gives us the chance to save some money again!
