would you choose a Water Softener (Harvey/ Kinetico) or an Instant Boiling Water tap in kitchen?

Coming down to cost I can only choose one of the products.

so a few questions:

• do the water softeners work and which is best?
• will I use the instant hot water tap all the time?

What would you do for the greatest benefit ?

I love the idea of both and just can't decide....

BTW if you do use block salt (we do) you can get some good deals from amazon or ebay for deliveries in bulk.

Oh and I have nothing to do with them/do not work for them - just impressed with the service from the Hitchin branch so happy to recommend.
