Sliding or french doors to divide small living/dining room space?

Hello, I really need this advice as have to order the doors asap.

I have L shaped open space - kitchen, dining and living downstairs (no separate living space). The kitchen bit is 3x3m, window to the garden; the dining bit 3x3m patio door to the garden, the living bit is also 3x3m and window to the side road. The house is 1960s but I am not attached to the period (could be period or classic). Measurements are approximate.
A partial wall is needed to separate dining and living room, including the doors. So I have two options of separating:

  1. Separate by sliding door and partial wall like this
Pros: more wall space for bookshelves, very practical. Cons: more expensive and has to be made bespoke (more faff), not sure of stopping sound/smell.

  2. Separate by wall and standard french doors like here
Pros: more beautiful to look at, probably better sound insulation, cons: losing wall space for the bookshelves and inconvenience of swinging.

Have considered sliding pocket french doors but spent tons of time browsing and still did not see classic french sliding door version (so again probably faff to buy it).

Which type would you go for?

I went for slimline bi fold as my walls are quite thick so fitted quite well with little protruding into either room. It depends on how open you want the room to feel when doors are open. I would of gone for sliding but once I measured the space required for the doors when open I would of had to compromise on the size of the opening. I would place furniture where it would be once doors are in position to get a feel of space and layout.
