Best flooring for a room that has been flooded ...

Have just bought a lovely but in need of some TLC Victorian house. The kitchen, entry hall and utility room have been flooded in the past.

This will be a heavy use area for us and so I have been looking at easy to keep clean, (will stand up to 3 kids and a husband in a mucky job with large boots) and durable flooring options but also want to put something down that would cope if water got in again.

I am currently debating between Lino, floor tiles or polished concrete. Does anyone have any experience about what would stand up the best if we were unlucky enough to be flooded again?

Well most swimming pools are tiled .... Seems a good option ! You can get wood look tiles if you want a wood look ...

I have this issue and have gone for tile. I was worried polished concrete would stain patchily (floodwater has all sorts in it!) and lino with its underlay would lift and smell and need replacing. I am assuming you have a concrete floor, not floorboards.

Yes concrete floor so should be simple enough to lay and kitchen was tanked after it was flooded so hoping that any water in would be minimal.

Hadn't thought of the swimming pool comparison SmileBlush with tiles!

Thank you for the insight on the polished concrete didn't realise it could stain.
