What to do with unwanted and unused chandelier?

Made a decision in a rush due to sales prior to our move, and bought a chandelier. We never installed it, and have now decided it is far too big to go where it should have gone.

It is nice, perfectly fine and cost £££ - but now, we really just want to get rid of it as we have no space. Throwing it away when it was never used seems sad. However, putting it on eBay is not ideal either as it's huge, and I doubt anyone would want to pay the postage.

What can we do? Any suggestions?

Gumtree?
Local small ads?
Advertise in local supermarket/news agent?
Donate it to charity shop?
post a photo and I might make you an offer

Put it on eBay collection only.

Keep it under the bed. You might need it in a Cluedo style murder.

Which charities would accept something like this? I know they accept furniture... but a chandelier is a bit weird, no?

It's basically this chandelier, (but bought elsewhere).

Any charity would accept it! Pick one out and take it along :)

eBay collection only

Definitely eBay. And investigate how much it would cost to courier, it's not usually that expensive.

Preloved . Collection only

I sold two chandeliers through a local auction house once. Lots of them will do a preliminary evaluation over the internet with a photo.

Our council will collect usable furniture etc to donate to local people who need them. Although I'm not sure how many people 'need' a chandelier I'm sure if your council does the same it would go to a good home.

But first I'd do as others have said and try ebay for collection only.

Done. Giving it to charity.

They'll pick it up next week, and I'm happy it will actually benefit a good cause.
