Moving kitchen and bathroom in house - help!

We want to put a bedroom where our family bathroom currently is, and put the bathroom where the kitchen currently is, and put the kitchen at the back of our living room - where there is currently French doors which would have to go and just be a window.

Should we approach building companies, kitchen fitters and plumbers separately or what? And should we try to reuse some of our old kitchen or does that limit our options in terms of suppliers wanting to work with us?

We want to do it cheaply as it's for the purpose of selling up (the additional bedroom being the main aim) but needs to look slick.

If you are sure you'll definitely make the money you are planning to spend back when you come to sell, yes I think it's a good idea to relocate certainly your kitchen appliances if they are in good condition.
If your carcasses are in good condition too, I don't see why you can't reuse them. Just be careful when you remove them, and measure up to ensure they'll fit in your new space.

Is there currently gas/elec/water/drains where you are proposing your new kitchen? If not, you'll need to factor in the cost of these.

I think you should try and find one company to do it all, otherwise you'll need a plumber to come back and forth to do each room.

You'll need a building warrant to ensure the new kitchen/bathroom comply with new building regs - access, ventilation, heating, lighting etc
