Has anyone had their Victorian house kitchen roof raised?

We're about to have our kitchen done. We have a Victorian terraced house with a through lounge/diner and a breakfast room/kitchen. It's plenty of space for us and we have a small garden and want to keep our large side return so we're not interested in an extension. The kitchen is at the back and 2.7m square/high (the breakfast room is a bit bigger). It's a single story bit on the back of the house.

The roof on the kitchen is sloping to quite a low point at the back, and we suspect it leaks a bit so might need re-doing anyway. To get more upward storage, a tall larder etc (we're tall!) and a bit more light we were thinking about having the roof raised a bit and a skylight put in.

I've looked all over the place though and can't find any examples of what this might look like in practice. Obviously we'll be getting a few builders in to have a look and quote, but I wondered if anyone else had had this done and whether they thought it was worth it? Or have seen any pictures?! Perhaps the lack of examples is because it's a pointless idea...

And also any ideas on price. We're in an unfashionable bit of South London.
