We are in the process of buying a house which has a Mercury Rangemaster range in the kitchen. It cost about £3,500 new. Not 100% sure how old it is, somewhere around the 3 year mark I believe. Vendor has offered to sell it to us for £1000. I have never had a range cooker and know nothing about them. I do know that this one has an electric fan oven. Our current cooker is gas hob/electric oven too but it is standard size so would look odd in the gap. I see that John Lewis do their own range cooker for £1000 so we could have a new one for the same price although presumably not the same quality as the Rangemaster one. I suspect we can probably negotiate the price down a bit given how much of a hassle it will be for the vendor to move it. Any advice please?
