Blackout blinds in tracks

We have one of these on our Velux window and the morning light in the DCs room is getting ridiculous despite a roller blind (lovingly made by me) and a blackout curtain. It's a normal large vertical window in our Edwardian terrace.
Has anyone got these for regular windows, do they work and any companies to use or avoid?
Early summer waking is definitely something we're prepared to throw a bit of money at!

We used to a Company called Itzala blinds(found on Google). Ours are electric so a little more expensive but cheaper than buying from Velux directly (and half the price of our local extortionists velux suppliers iyswim (I think they are an agent for velux). We got black blackout/insulation blinds. We had a small problem with them recently and velux sorted it very efficiently/quickly for us.

Ah, we don't need any more Velux blinds, it's the tracked vertical blinds for regular windows we need now.

We've decided to order some samples of blocout blinds. Will report back!

So to report back, we got the samples from the Blocout company and decided that a little bit extra for a "non-basic" colour was OK, chose a pale green.

Went back on the website to order and found the prices had gone up in about 3 days by around 50%!

So we found another company that does them - Vale Blinds - and ordered a pale green, similar to the walls in the DCs' room. They also do nursery prints but for 2x the price or more, and we reckoned they will not want that type of print for long.

You can get tracks that are recessed into the window or that are positioned on the window surround but we have no window surround one side as the window is fitted directly onto the side wall of the room. So we got the recessed kind, except they have a little lip on the outside. Thankfully we have a little beading that side of the window but it was slightly annoying that "recessed into the window" doesn't mean completed recessed.

Anyway DH fitted it yesterday and it's been much quieter from the DCs this morning. I woke early and couldn't sleep of course after all that but no shouting from them! Though a little bit of singing... but I think they are calmer with it being actually dark in their room!

Previously we had a bog standard blackout blind PLUS a curtain over the whole window with blackout lining but it really was like bright daylight in there with them both shut on a bright summer morning.

Ooh we used vale blinds for our blackout velum blinds. They're great!
