Boiler cable under floorboard - Pigletjohn?

The plumber had installed a combi boiler in our airing cupboard. Because the socket is on the opposite side of the boiler, the plumber placed the cable under the floorboard so that the cable is not in the way. He used heat resistant cable. Is it safe this way because there are hot pipes underneath the floorboards. Pigletjohn or anyone, please?

if it is heat resistant cable, it will be OK close to hot pipes, though preferably not touching them. But what colour, and shape, is this cable? Round or rectangular? Shiny black, whitish rubbery, or grey?

I would prefer to put pipe lagging such as Climaflex round the hot pipes though.

The cable should be well below the floorboards, either lying between the joists, or passing through them in holes drilled at the midpoint. Cable should certainly not be laid in notches cut in joists, just under the floorboards.

Thank, Pigletjohn. The plumber said he's going to insulate the pipe, is this the same as lagging? The cable is white, does it make a difference?

is it round?

Yes, the cable is white and round.

Sounds OK. The pipe insulation is tubular stiff polythene foam. Felt is not as good.

Thanks for your help, Pigletjohn. Much a appreciated.
