Gas pipe behind oven too big

So when I tried to get a new oven I found that the gas pipe for the hob sticks out too much for the oven to sit flush against the units. The old oven I have is very shallow at the top so doesn't affect it. Tried to find an oven that is shallow at top back but this is proving difficult, also we need the cheapest oven possible so this doesn't help. Called gas man they quoted about £120 to move pipe, this seems very steep. Anyone else have experience of this?

I'd get another quote for comparison. It's not a job you can do yourselves and may be worth it if it means you don't have be limited to a very small number a ovens with specific measurements.

It has to be done by a gas-safe person.

It can be useful to have it clamped to the wall at skirting level where not many things will reach it.

The cost is reasonable. Could be 1-1.5hr job with materials and vat.

The cost to move sounds a little high to me.

We paid £100 for someone to cap off the old supply, put new gas pipes in to take gas supply 3m away and then come back at a later date to attach the hob.
