Which one of these, if any, will age the least ie in five or ten years won't look old fashioned/dates

Not the middle one.

PragmaticWench · 12/03/2015 18:25

I think the middle one looks dated already.

FunMitFlags · 12/03/2015 19:13

3rd one

I'm sorry I've been having problems uploading from my phone. Here are the final options

2 and 5 are dated already. I vote for 3.

BaronessEllaSaturday · 12/03/2015 19:27

4 will date quickly, my vote would be for 3

haggardoldwitch · 12/03/2015 19:29

Tom Howley, the 3rd one, would be my choice.

Moln · 12/03/2015 19:33

I'd say three too. It more 'classic'. Classic tends to remain so, even when it's not fashionable.

The rest are all modern, and fashionable, which means one day they won't be.

lugo40 · 12/03/2015 19:34

Thank you!! Third one is actually my favourite . Also the most expensive but might be able to recreate it for a bit less

3

Blackeyez09 · 12/03/2015 20:24

I dream for number 3 type kitchen plus an aga in my forever home!

lovingmatleave · 12/03/2015 21:19

3 - i am just about to get one like 4 and i think seeing it next to 3, 4 looks dated. oh crap.

However the room dimensions, natural light and aspect will make a difference. I don't think 3 would work in a galley type or small kitchen. It needs space and light as in the picture.

mandy214 · 12/03/2015 23:39

I agree that 2 and 5 look dated already. 3 is lovely but I think you need a certain style / size of house (and kitchen) for it to work. I think you're not comparing like with like though because if you put kitchen 4 in number 3's room then I think it could look equally good.

And the other consideration is that regardless of which will date, you have to live with it for 5-10 years (or whatever your timescales) so go with what you like!

Some great points thank you very much. If it helps we have an Edwardian house and were building an extension with roof lantern for the new kitchen. We're keeping this old chimney and putting a log burner in it

lugo40 · 13/03/2015 06:49

Like this... The kitchen is completely open onto the extension so should be very light and feel spacious

As pp have said no 3 looks the best because of all the natural light but as you'll have that I'd say that is a great choice for you. Beware that the bright natural light shows up the dust and sticky finger prints a bit more. What floor are you going for?

lugo40 · 13/03/2015 09:15

we havn't definitely chosen flooring yet but its likely to be wood. We have had cream tiles on the floor in other homes and they always looked so dirty so thats put us off. Wood we feel will flow nicely into the living and dining areas of the kitchen and be a nod to the original character of the house
