Right so I am moving in July, I have a three year old going full time school in September and a 2 year old who will be in nursery. I want to move away from where I am ( I am in the north of England atm) I am in college and then will be going to university after. They are my basic needs really! where would you guys recommend, I can afford £450pcm for rent and I have no car either!!

I have family who live in both cities, and Leeds definitely seems to be the cheaper city, in terms of housing and general living expenses, which I presume would be important if you're going to be a student for the next few years.

Leeds - it is in Yorkshire, where God comes from.

Never, never, never Lancashire.

With a budget of £450pcm I think you will struggle with Manchester. Leeds is much cheaper for a reason. Only joking Wink.

Okay so say Leeds, what areas should I be looking at x

Is 450 your budget or topped up with HB?
Vast areas of city are student areas which will be more expensive
There are several huge estates to avoid
Rest will be down to convenience- walking or tram to college uni etc
I'd look at schools first and go from there- have you looked to apply yet?

Suggest you make sure the school you chose has a nursery/pre-school too. You dont need the added complication of different school times or holidays.

Also re schools, make sure you can get into your chosen school before renting somewhere. EA should be able to tell you what schools have vacancies for Reception Sept 15.
