Traditional green front door

Hi mumsnet clever people, can you help me out with paint colours please?

We have a grade 11 listed victorian house, dark brick with a big painted portico around the front door. Its all boring black (door) and white (windows) at the moment and I wanted to add some character. The painters arrive in a few weeks to get started - i have chosen Farrow and Ball 'old white' for the window frames and portico and I need a lovely green for the front door. I am looking for something traditional and quite strong because the house gets full sun which washes out any colour I've tried.

So far...
Farrow and Ball Card Room Green. Beautiful colour until its on the front door, then it turns an insipid grey
Farrow and Ball Calke green. Zingy but too modern.

Before I fritter away more of our renovation budget on sample pots I thought id ask you all!

We have the Card Room Green on our front and back doors. Also in Victorian house in conservation area.

Can't say they turn insipid grey when it is sunny though.

I was a bit gutted about the card room green because it is such a beautiful colour. Our brickwork is quite dull, and i think that and the combination of the bright sunlight just make it very washed out. It loses the green and becomes a flat grey, a bit like french grey.

Tried Green Smoke? Is your brickwork red brick or is it London-type smoky grey? Think you need to get all three colours (brick/frame/door) working together.

Green Smoke definitely a mid green not a really dark bottle green, depends on what you want.
