Aylesbury help

Hi,

My DP and I are currently living in Milton Keynes. I work in Northampton, a 30min commute away, but he works at Heathrow - which can be an up to 2 and a half hours worth of hell on M25. We are looking to buy our first house together and we want to try and reduce his driving time. We are thinking Aylesbury might be a good choice distance-wise - but we don't know much about the area, so I thought I would try and tap into the collective MN knowledge and wondered if you guys had any advice about Aylesbury (nice areas, facilities etc)?

Hello! We are trying to move to aylesbury... any suggestions about bedgrove?? We really like the area and school! But some reviews on internet about aylesbury has scared me offShock

Depends where you were living before. If London no problem but if Aylesbury may have a shock

misfitt · 23/10/2017 17:04

I know Bedgrove from A41 runs an for fine if slightly overpriced for example 350k 2 bed bungalow.

Bedgrove is a good estate for families. Good community, excellent primary schools , nice park and good local shops. Churches if you want them. The housing stock is a bit old-fashioned but the house are solid and well built and often have larger plots than on many more recent estates.

@hannah86hb would you mind sharing what you end up doing and how did you find it?

We liked a house on Lavender Grange, Aylesbury and we're going to view some houses on Leighton Buzzard and Cheddington this weekend.

We're 1st time buyers, moving from south London and would appreciate any recommendations or advice. Smile

@Kyara

You may be better off starting a new thread.

Aylesbury has changed massively since this thread started years ago.

Delectable · 15/03/2022 17:06

@hannah86hb and @Kyara how did your moves go? Where did you end up?

Kyara · 22/11/2022 21:09

@Delectable we moved to an area in Aylesbury that's a bit more isolated from the town centre and we love it. We're surrounded by greenery and fields with loads of wild life, nice neighbours and we're 5-7min drive from supermarkets, shops and train station.
