Come and talk to me about boiling water taps...

That's it really. Ideally I would like one tap that does it all (hot, cold, boiling) from the point of view of kitchen aesthetics, but I am worried about turning on the boiling bit by mistake, burns etc.

DH saw a Quooker at a friends house and hated it. I was eyeing up the one by Insinkerator, will post link below....

So, who has one, which one, and do you recommend it?

Many thanks!

There must be a filter on the tap as tea tastes much better than unfiltered water boiled in the kettle, DH finds the same.

No, you don't have to be immensely strong. But you do have to chose to push and twist, so it's not a choice you can accidentally make.

I would not have chosen something potentially dangerous to my son who has SN. If you are struggling with this then your issues are more serious than his.

Does a boiling water tap mean it's constantly using electricity to keep the water hot? Or is it kept in a thermos flask, ready to be dispensed when needed?

Pag - you are quite right it couldn't be turned on by accident. I overstated on the safety aspect.

Wanderings - yes something looking like a large thermos is under the sink.

The safety aspect is important though - quite right. I just judged it by whether ds2 with SN could turn it on by mistake. I don't believe he could.

I have a Quooker and love it. Haven't noticed any spittiness.

We have a one and a half bowl sink. The half sink is to the left of the main sink. We have a normal mixer tap between the 2 sinks then the Quooker on the right side of the main sink. You can pull the Quooker up and round and set a pan on the worktop to be filled.
