Reuse existing bathroom suite in new extension?

We are planning a rear extension to our property to give us a large kitchen/diner, separate utility room and new family bathroom.
To save on costs, we're considering reusing the existing bathroom suite in our new bathroom (approx 5 years old - the neighbours told us the previous owner installed it to help sell the house). Reusing it means we'll just need to buy a separate walk in shower, and not a whole new suite.
I'm assuming moving and reinstalling it is possible, but is there anything I need to consider in advising the builder this is what we'd prefer to do?

If you are particularly fond of it, you can, but new bathroom suites can be very inexpensive. Look at Plumbworld. It may be marked by grout or sealant, and limescale round taps and wastes. There may be damage removing it.

Unless the taps are top quality, buy some new ones that are.

If you have any pop-up wastes, bin them and fit normal ones. Pop-up wastes always leak.

May be worth looking at victoria plumb for the small amount extra, we used then for our bathroom and found them v reasonable. Also worth checking likes if b&q as we fit cooke&lewis toilet with soft close seat for our new downstairs wc which was supposed to be £200 fir £70, may still be in the sale?

It just seems a shame to throw a perfectly good suite in a skip!

Thanks PigletJohn - yes I prefer a plug/plug hole too and was planning to replace the taps, although they do always seem more expensive than you first realise.
Kieron, I do like a good deal so hopefully when we start work we'll not have missed out on the January sales!

I'm a bit nervous about buying a new bathroom online as I do like to 'wallow' and I'd want to check a bath was long enough/wide enough for me to do so - but not so long that I can't reach the taps to top up the hot water using my toes!

We recently bought a suite online & although the bath is long enough & wide enough it's not deep enough Sad

You can get measurements to compare with your current suite though. (& fwiw the plumber had to break our old loo to get it out so you might find bits need replacing anyway)
