Land Registry - Question after completion

Stupid question maybe... but when can you expect to find yourself on the Land Registry once you have completed on the house?!?

Should take a few weeks if everything has been submitted correctly...... however if not it can take a lot longer. Sometimes it's because the seller's mortgage company hasn't had the charge removed from the property (and buyer's mortgage company unable to register their charge) or because certain forms haven't been sent to Land Registry and replies to requisitions are still outstanding.

Ours took 4-5 weeks. We didn't get much paperwork to show for it though as apparently now it's all electronic records & owners only get a small document. Felt silly - all that money for 2 pages!!

Should be pretty straightforward once the TR1 is sent to the LR. It usually takes around 8 weeks to three months. It may vary from office to office too.

Depends on what exactly happened - if property was previously registered, if rights in the transfer to register, if done electronically or by post. They're busy atm - leave it til end jan

All the replies are spot on - average registration timescales at present are around the 5 week mark if a straightforward purchase/new mortgage and lodged correctly.
It can be done much quicker if lodged electronically but always remember that it can take a few weeks after completion before the conveyancer lodges the application with us as well.
Historically of course timescales for registration had little or no impact as often you were moved in and settled before the registration process was completed. However nowadays getting everything completed and registered as quickly as possible is often the basic requirement by everyone involved.

If registration is needed urgently for any reason then we encourage customers to contact us with specific details - usually this would be the applicant themselves though of course.

Ours took 3-4 months! Our solicitor was pretty incompetent mind.

I think conveyancer will lodge it now that we've completed...
