Hearth for a multi fuel stove - would white be a bad idea?

I am getting a multi fuel stove installed in December and have yet to choose the hearth.

I ideally like the look of a white hearth. But having never owned anything but a gas fire before would this be a bad idea? Are they very dusty?

I have ruled out limestone as it marks very easily, I have the choice of riven slate which is grey or granite which is a bit shiny but cream coloured.

Any advice gratefully received. Pictures attached are the 'look' I like...

Monica, I mainly put the fairy lights on it because the fireplace recess can look quite dark and gloomy when there is no fire lit. The lights are packed away for the winter now that I've got the stove on most nights.

I've got fairy lights on a mirror above the fire. A friend of mine has fairy lights on the beam above the fire which looks nice. She's got the lights right at the back of the beam so they're behind the ornaments.

Thanks unlucky83 I am awaiting an email from the stove installer to check dimensions. I think I will mainly burn anthracite but want to be able to buy logs too.

I think trying to avoid the dark hole look is at the core of this selks. I was at first going for an enamel cream stove but I know I would chip it with a poker. So thought light hearth. Anyway now revised to dark grey hearth and some fairy lights in summer.

Thanks for all the advice, so very helpful.
