tiny bathroom and toilet, unsure what to do

Hi everyone.
So we have a very tiny toilet and bathroom. The bathroom is about 1.8m x 1.7 wide, with the floor space to walk on being about 80-90cm wide. Its tiny , but we manage. We also have a separate toilet next door, again being about 80-90cm wide (the whole toilet is the same width as the door).

We have the opportunity to knock the wall down between the bathroom and toilet making obviously making one big room instead. There will be more room to move etc however it is the only toilet in the house and some are arguing the toilet is better off separate due to privacy issues.

So need some advice, WWYD? Does a bigger room trump no completely private toilet? Stuck!

One downstairs, one in main bathroom and two en suites. It seemed a bit daft to put an en suite into the second big bedroom (intended for lodger, then au pair, then DD1) without having a loo in it too. The one in the family bathroom doesn't really get used ever, but when all three children are old enough to use the toilet I think we'll be grateful for the abundance of loos. At least now there's one on every floor, I did hate having to wander downstairs in the middle of the night.

We had this arrangement and knocked the wall down. Also replaced bath with large walk in shower. Everyone who visits loves our bathroom. I would love to have another loo in the house, mainly when DS is home from Uni - the rest of the time it's fine.

I did have this situation with an ex. It was quite manageable except neither us could always enjoy a long leisurely poo lol. As the last poster said, you might be better off with a shower. At least then you haven't got the issue of someone in there for ages.

we have separate loo and bathroom but as we now have a downstairs loo i would contemplate making one room.

i would not have done before.

I would take the wall down. No question about it.

Is there a sink with the toilet at the moment? If there isn't you still have to use the bathroom to wash your hands so there's no advantage to having them seperate.

I think you are doing the right thing knocking it down.

We also have 4 loos. One on the ground floor for visitors. We have an ensuite which has one, then there is the family bathroom and then there is one on the 2nd floor which is ensuite to the main guest room.

When the house is full, they all get used regularly. No one ever has to wait.
