to remove 2 radiators prior to wall being replastered, then put them back on?
First plumber says £100, sound reasonable?

Yes, sounds pretty good.

You might not even need a plumber, you should be able to just lift the rad up and slump it forward while still attached. This is what our plasterer's assistant did last week when we had a wall done. Even if you want it right off it's a simple job that doesn't require a GasSafe registered engineer.

oww! might bend or kink the copper pipes if you try that. If plastic pipes, less risky.

If you are fond of DIY plumbing, it is not especially difficult, but you have to turn the valves off at both ends, open the bleed valve to ensure there is no pressure, undo the large nuts attaching the valves to the radiator, catch all the water that comes out in ice cream tubs (if black, it will permanently stain carpets and other fabrics), lift off the rad and turn it upside down; refit and fix the leaks, top up pressure.

£100 for a plumber is sounding more reasonable.

Thanks to all. Plumber booked, no way would I try it myself, that would be a recipe for disaster Smile
