Are they any good? Been looking at them online and they are currently £48 in john lewis.

Has anyone got one? Are they easy to use of a faff?

Thanks.

I have one! My mum bought it me as a present Grin as she has one and loves it. It's v easy to use and you do get streak free windows without any elbow grease or faff.

I mix a bowl of warm water and vinegar, wash the windows with my solution and then use the vac to remove the water. Simple. As we live in a bungalow I can do inside and out relatively quickly.

I will say that I recently bought the shorter "blade" as an extra as our windows have fiddly panes which you can't clean with the longer one.

I'm not sure I would have spent my own money on one up front but now I have one I do love it and would say that if you have a lot of windows to clean, or patio doors etc which are hard to get streak free then it's worth it.

Thanks for the feedback, sounds quite good then. I'd be happy with that as a present (god I'm old arnt I) Have you used it on tiles atall?

They're dead easy. I don't rate mine for cleaning windows, but it's great for condensation and spills.

Greencheese · 16/10/2014 22:40

What else have you used it on?

I like the idea or hoovering up morning breath condensation from the windows. That sounds really satisfying.

I was extremely Hmm about them but used my sister's and it was so brilliant I rushed to Argos and spent all my nectar points on one. Very quick to use and very very satisfying: just slosh the windows clean with whatever and then hoover it polished in seconds. All flat surfaces in our house are now squeaky clean for probably the first time ever.

Shower screen. Wet bathroom floors.

Come and see my fred on this exact subject

The consensus seems to be 'yeah' with a few 'nay'.
I am very tempted.

I'm considering getting one for bathroom screens only. Does it need charging before every use? I can't imagine I'd bother taking it upstairs every day if so.
I've got tiny window panes, would it work on them do you think, or are they better for a big sheet of glass?

thejoysofboys · 18/10/2014 10:49

You won't need to charge it every day truly - I'd say more like once a week/fortnight for what you're saying you'd use it for.

If you have tiny window panes you'd need to look at the blade size. The one that comes as standard with the Karcher is quite long. I bought the additional shorter on (15cm ish, I'd guess) for doing my small window panes. The blade needs to be able to sit flat against the window like a squeegee would.

Thanks thejoy that's really helpful. Think I might invest.
