Cost of canopy for scaffolding?

Does anyone have any vague idea about the cost of getting a canopy put up over scaffolding? (It goes across the back of our house, an average size semi detached house)
Dh seems to think it will cost thousands. Is he right?

The rain is adding weeks and weeks on to our build time as we're waiting for the bloody roof to go on.

Thank you!

what scaffolding is there already? We had a canopy - called a tin roof in the trade and it cost 3.5k. It's considerable work to put up and take down and it's charged on a rental basis so the longer the period the higher the cost.

We had ours for a summer build and it was brilliant as it did enable the build to continue despite rain. It copes with rain well but high winds are still something that might make the build unsafe for the workers. The canopy will also make a lot of noise in windy conditions so just something to be aware of, if you're still living in the house.

Ours wasn't that expensive and it was very useful. Our loft conversion was carried out in the autumn and it saved us lots of time. Unfortunately our extension was uncovered and was delayed a lot and then all the new sections took ages to dry out when complete.

We're having a loft done now and we were told best part of 5k for a tin hat. That's London. Given scaffolding one side of our house last year cost 1k....

Hardly anyone gets tin hats round us, for that reason.

We must have had a fantastic deal then - our scaffolding was £2.5k all in. Score.

We didn't have it as would have cost £4000. We have had a few leaks due to the torrential rain over the summer but liveable.
