Anyone bought underbed trundle for existing single bed?!?!

We want to buy one to slide under DD's existing single bed for occasional sleepovers. I don't want to spend a lot as it won't be used very often so have been searching mainly on ebay. I keep finding ones that look to be suitable but when I measure up find they are too big to slide under her bed, either lengthways, widthways or heightwise, sometimes all 3! Hers is a standard single bed and I assumed that these trundles would come in pretty standard sizes but it would appear not! On the face of it, it looks like there's ample space under her bed for such a thing, but apparently not!

From my measurements, it looks like we need something that is a maximum of 187cm long, 85cm wide and 27cm high(including mattress) to fit under the bed

It's driving me mad, as I thought it would be such a simple thing to sort out! I'm panicking slightly as we're having friends to stay at half term so wanted it for that initially.

Any advice, please!!

Thank you.

try www.tauruspinebeds.co.uk/products_beds.php they do a trundle to go under regular single bed and can also make to measure

email them or call them as the trundle is not on the website

We bought the one from Aspace. Not cheap at almost £300 (you have to buy the mattress separately) - but it has been fantastic, very solid, and fits under quite a low single bed. They also delivered very quickly.

We just slide a spare mattress under each bed!

Thank you for the suggestions. The one on Argos (also on Tesco) looks like it would fit. DH still thinks too expensive for occasional use & wants to carry on trawling eBay, but I disagree!

I bought the need and the trundle together. I now want to replace the bed but am having the same problem.

Perhaps an air mattress and pump might be a better solution in your case.

how about making one? you can buy different sized roller wheels (castors?) and attach say 6 to a piece of ply or something suitable. Could even paint the ply to look pretty (I couldnt do it myself, but you get the idea!) Then cheap mattress on top. Ideal if its the occasional on night for a child.

What about something like this (Ikea bed) - cheap as chips. The IKEA mattresses are cheap too - fine for occasional use. I would chop off the legs and get some cheap castors.
