Building Control Certificate?

Our builder is just finishing off our renovation which included new wiring and new gas installation. Can anyone tell me if a Building Control Certificate covers everything done in the house or if we should be looking for an electrical one etc too.

Thank you

You need an electrical cert. A gas cert. Both people who did this should hold the appropriate certification.

Any works requiring building control certification should have been notified no less than 48 hours before work started. The work should then have been inspected during the build and again after.

the onus is on the home owner to ensure this is in place however your builder should have advised you.

If your builder is gas safe registered plumber ans nic or part p registered sparks then no building control required as they can and should self certify. But building control needed for any structural works especially wall removal. Window installation. Windows covered by part l of building regs with regards thermal insulation. (If builder registered with fensa can self certify).

Surprised your builder not explained all this really.

Oops misread - you have building control already? I would ask to see what has been covered. As building control CAN cover all those things.

You should receive a copy if building inspector report.

Ah okay so one building control certificate covers all aspects of the new building work?
Thanks
