SUBSIDENCE? calling all structural engineers ....

Hi

I have this crack in my house which is bugging the heck out of me - it's on the outside wall of my house which is also a wall of put integral garage so there is another wall the other side of the garage if you see what I mean

The crack goes from the integral garage door, upwards and through the coving and then along the ceiling

I attach a photo - I'm sure it's getting bigger but can't be sure

Setting aside the need to redecorate and my poor taste in wall paint - I wonder if to the trained structural engineer eye this looks like it could be subsidence?

Any advice grateful received

Some subsidence is "natural". We get similar cracks that come and go with the seasons. House is on clay (and has been for over 100 years). In the winter the ground swells slightly with rainfall and in the summer it receeds with dryer weather. The walls of the house (Victorian) are flexible and move a bit.
