Nice south coast towns - Kent/East Sussex

Hot on the heels of my idea of moving further out to Norwood etc, I have gone one step further and am now thinking of leaving London altogether.

Am thinking of Eastbourne/Hastings/Folkestone and any of the towns in between. I would ideally like a sandy beach rather than a pebble beach, and would like to be able to a decent 3 bed house for under £275k. Journey time to London wouldn't be a deal breaker as we would look for jobs locally. Would like to get to London in under 1hr 45 mins though.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Well said 2fedup!! I am hopeless at linking but am happy to look for properties for you, whats the criteria?

SarfEasticated · 02/10/2014 10:02

3/4 beds, decent garden big rooms. Victorian - 1950's preferred. Ideally near park/country/sea, walking distance to a station. Thanks!

I give you this one in Eastbourne - nice area, 5 mins walk to the seafront, 10-15 mins walk to station.

I hr 20 to London, Victoria, but easy changes to London Bridge.

Eastbourne is lovely. Roselands & Old Town are nice areas.

A lovely house magic - I particularly like the garden - will add it to my list :)

sarf..........how do I do a link? There are a few nice ones in Deal I have seen for you! Nice than the Eastbourne ones and Deal is soooo much nicer, am I flogging it to you? High speed train service from Mon, Deal to London just over an hour!!

SarfEasticated · 06/10/2014 07:29

I think you just paste the URL into the box. Like this www.link.co.uk. No need for anything else.

Of the first 3 - Ni 1 is in Old Town & a lot of young families really like it.

No 2 - Whitley Road - it's a very busy cut through road with the local fire station on it!

No 3 - Pevensey Bay - nice but a bit out of Eastbourne & not so good for rail links.

SarfEasticated · 06/10/2014 08:25

Magi - you're marvelous - your local knowledge is much appreciated!

how do I paste Blush useless! Am going to pm you!

magimedi · 06/10/2014 11:34

I don't know Bexhill well, but do go there sometimes & I wouldn't want to live that close to the town centre - it's pretty run down & endless Charidee shops - the De La Warr pavillion & gallery is lovely, however.

Thank you Triplets and team Edwards - I am spoilt for choice! I don't think I have ever been to Deal/Walmer so will try to fit in a visit soon. Did you say an hour on the train to London?
We were in Hastings over the summer and loved is, so know roughly where those houses are team. The train journey to London is quite a bit longer though isn't it?
I am really grateful for you taking the time Thanks

triplets · 07/10/2014 08:21

Must say those houses in Hastings are fab, well done !

SarfEasticated · 07/10/2014 08:31

I'll post up your links if you want me too triplets?

OP posts:
magimedi · 07/10/2014 09:32

Although I live just outside Eastbourne, I'd agree with teamEdwards - Hastings is lovely - I often think about moving there!

Not so keen on St Leonards, would have to be Old Town for me.

Train links not as good/fast as Eastbourne, however.

SarfEasticated · 07/10/2014 19:26
