polka dot carpet

am trying to find a polka dot carpet for my daughter's bedroom, she's 3 and I've put up cloud wallpaper and am going to paint a rainbow mural- but the flooring is flummaxing me. Google isn't helping, the nearest I've got is a red dot carpet but is really out of my price range at £53 sq m. Anyone got a spotty carpet? Or know where I can get one? or other suggestions? thanks :)

Brintons do a range at the moment, but it will be reasonably ££. Pastel colours. Hang on

Brintons Padstow collection

MrsLettuce · 16/09/2014 20:56

Does it really need to be spotty? Grassy green and flower rugs would seem to fit the bill Confused

Apparently it is £75sm2. Ouch.

these people do roll ends/remnants. Maybe they'll have something?

my dd has a stripy rug in random pretty colours, apparently they are the ends of the wool that they use up so it would have been quite cheap but it is lovely.

Oh Tortoise that would've been perfect- £75!!! perhaps i should buy a plain one and felt tip the spots on. ;)

polka dot vinyl, still pricey but much cheaper. Very practical.

SuchSweetSorrow · 16/09/2014 21:17

oh I would love polka dot carpet! (sorry not helpful!)

pod3030 · 16/09/2014 21:24

ooh, the floor tiles are lovely, but not very warm and cosy for a bedroom. what the hecking flaps can i fling down. I'm not really a fan of carpet, floorboards and rugs here, so don't like the plain fluffy type carpets.

sigh, am feverishly looking through ebay remnant listings. I love sisal but I hear it's a bit temperamental and prone to staining. I've considered artificial grass, but not sure, as it's not what I really want I'd just be making do. Thanks for your help so far- if you think of any groovy carpets or alternatives let me know .. literally google-eyed ...

How big is the floor space when the room is furnished? I'm struggling to see why you'd go for carpet here, as a rug and floorboard type.

Nydj · 16/09/2014 21:55

If you do a search for brintons carpet remnants you may find the polka dot one much cheaper.

pod3030 · 16/09/2014 21:58

Its only 3.20 m x 2.15 m. I suppose i wanted my dd to be all cosy. And I've been floor sanding and varnishing all week and the novelty is wearing off! (though it looks lush)

Oh yes, I quite understand. Is knackering work!

Vinyl and a rug (or a few) would be give a similar feel to boards but softer and, indeed, cosy.
