Where can we put a shower pump?

We've just had a lovely en-suite added to our bedroom, but the power of the mixer shower is rubbish and so we're looking into a pump. I'm now wondering where it will go (please don't tell me I have to rip apart my lovely new tiles/bathroom)! The shower is on a stud wall which can be accessed from the bedroom side (but we would then need to replaster/redecorate it).

Non-combi boiler housed in the garage. Hot water cylinder and cold water tank in the loft above DCs bedroom.

Does the pump have to go in the loft near the cylinder? Is it noisy enough to disturb those sleeping in the bedroom below (DH wakes and showers early and I don't want to disturb the DCs)?? Can it go under floorboards (I've Googled shower pump images but it's hard to grasp an idea of size)?

Thanks in advance :)

I think typically the pump goes in the airing cupboard, with the hot water tank. We wanted ours in the bathroom (to work for both the bathroom and ensuite) as we were worried about the noise. The plumber was happy to do this although the plumbing costs would have been a little higher. What we ended up with is an aqualisa shower that has it's own pump, that is put into the loft. I know you don't want a new shower, but it must be an option to put he pump up there. I think the plumbing goes through the loft generally (ours did).

I reckon you've just gotta get a plumber in to ask.

at the end of the garden to keep the bloody awful noise down...

as that is probably not practical - work very hard to reduce the racket. They can be very loud and mean someone having a shower wakes the entire house.

I've been wondering the same question as op. We have no loft and no airing cupboard!
