If you have a cleaner how much do they do?

I'm trying to work out whether I'm being unreasonable to be unhappy with my new cleaner.

She has only been once so far but I was expecting a lot more, and I'm not sure if my expectations were too high, or if she just isn't very good.

She spent 3 hours in our 2 bedroom flat and the agency sold it as a "deep clean" to get our flat "up to standard". Our flat is very clean already so it's not like she had to spend half an hour scrubbing grease from the kitchen or anything like that. in 3 hours she managed to dust 1 bedroom and the living room. Clean the kitchen and bathroom and polish the floor and change 1 bed.

The 2nd bedroom wasn't dusted and although I could see the lines on the carpet where she had vacuumed the floor was still covered in bits. She didn't mop any of the hard floors just used wood polish. So sticky marks were still there. She also left imprints from the soles of her shoes on the floors.

The things that were polished were clean but mirrored or glass objects were slightly smeared. The kitchen had been cleaned but not the cabinet doors, nor had limescale been removed from around the tap. She also did not clean the tiles around the bath nor vacuum underneath the sofas.

I had sort of expected that a professional cleaner would do a much better and more thorough job than I would do myself. I also expected that she would do "added value" stuff that I don't get around to myself, such as cleaning tiles, skirting boards etc. Now I'm doubting that any of this will be done without my prompting. I may just be being very picky and it was a first visit, but it's a lot of money to spend each month if I still have to do bits myself.

nope, that's no good. MILs cleaner spends two hours on a 2 bed bungalow; no dust anywhere, kitchen immaculate from surfaces to sink to cooker to floor, thorough hoovering, bathroom shining.

she doesn't do things like inside microwave or fridge, but I'm sure she could with 3 hours.

MiL is not that messy (!) but you can really see when the cleaner has been.

yours is no good.

Sounds like a very lazy cleaner. I'd be contacting the agency and getting a break down of exactly what she's expected to do or draw up one of your own for the cleaner to cross reference.
I'm a nanny and used to clean on one morning a week for them. In 3 hours I'd clean all 5 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 3bathrooms, kitchen and diner. Also I'd be putting washes on and hanging washing out.
