Rhino non slip vinyl in a summerhouse

We have just had a new summerhouse built as a playhouse for my daughter and are just about to sort out the inside, insulating and boarding/painting it.

I want something fairly non slip for flooring and was thinking of Rhino non slip vinyl.

Wondered if that was an OK idea - will it encourage damp underneath it?

Any views/other recommendations welcome - current floor is chipboard looking stuff so needs covering - could I paint it with something non-slip - I have no idea!

I would envisage a big rag rug going in there too but would like the first 3-4 feet to be cleanable and non slip.

I have used rhino floor thickest grade for 2 bathrooms study & a bedroom 8 years ago. V easy to mop & keep clean & also v cheap so now that I have lightly splattered one floor with paint, I would be v happy to use the same again.

Thanks - I can buy a 4 x 4 remnant for £100 so it is very appealing from a cost pov.

It is the non slip that is really important - we have tiles in our rear hallway/utility that are really slippery when wet - I don't want anything like that where children will be running in from potentially wet grass.

V non-slippy which is why I put it in the bathrooms. Smile

You will get problems with damp underneath though! You'd maybe need to drill some air holes to let moisture out.

Yes, damp is my worry but less so than children skidding on tiles/laminate etc., etc..

I might be being thick but how would air holes in the chipboard stop damp as the damp will be coming up from the ground and the vinyl will be an unbroken layer on top of that. Wouldn't the damp still be a problem just everywhere other than where the holes were if it was an issue. The summer house is on bits of wood about 3-4" high with paving slabs under the wood.

Other option is floor paint which states that it is anti-slip - not sure how effective it is - any views??
