Does 2k for "damp work" sound a lot?

Currently selling an old terrace house. It had a survey three years ago when buying it and no problems on the survey.

There is now a noticeable damp patch on bathroom wall and dining room wall as well. Both small patches where the plaster is going a bit crumbly.

Te buyers had a survey done which said its damp penetrating through the brick work and salt coming out the brick? So not rising damp.

Buyers have had a builder round who's said it's 2k worth of work......so they say. They want 2k off the house price.

Yes, sounds reasonable. We have recently had our chimney fixed and one external wall treated for penetrating damp and it was 4.5K

sounds very reasonable, we had similar problems across the gable end of our wall cost us 4k

Penetrating damp has a source-- bad pointing, broken or blocked gutters, cracked masonry etc. How much it costs to fix really depends on what the source cause is and how large an area its effected.

Including redecorating costs, 2k could be reasonable but it depends on what the source of the rising damp is.

To be honest, I wouldn't quibble!

Thanks. We've agreed to meet in the middle, so 1k off.
