Are my bathrooms going to be very boring?

Family bath & ensuite.
Limestone floor, plain white (300x200) tiles laid in a brick pattern with tile dado to waist height. Coloured walls & accessories.
They're quite big spaces & I'm worried it will look like an operating theatre Grin.
I can't find any affordable tiles that I will like forever. Once we do a project we never go back so I'm looking for timeless & simple, but I might've gone too far. I've got a border in the bathroom I'm leaving but have gone off it.
My Pinterest is full of sumptuous bathrooms but most of them look like they've been put in by the Candy bothers & are far beyond my budget.

Honed limestone is fine in a bathroom. I have bathroom floors (4) using this in my holiday house and it has been fine. We let the house out. Why would it get dirty? It is a bathroom. You just have to keep muddy boots and the dog out of it. Seal it well and you will be fine.

Regarding the tiles, I really prefer large format and am a big fan of Porcelanosa. I think the brick look is a bit like an operating theatre. We have used smaller white tiles in one bathroom in our house and I now regret it. We are actually happier with our travertine bathroom and the tongue and groove one with a free standing bath. We didn't use special paint, just eggshell for wood, and it has been fine (a pale blue/green) with a limestone floor. We have another large bathroom with large format tiles (900 x 300 - I think) all over. I have always struggled with finishing off tiles at dado height (how to make a neat finish at the tile/wall join) and now like the all over tiled look but white sounds too clinical. I would definitely look at Houzz or House to Home for ideas.

Sorry

Just make sure when they seal them they swear on their lives that they have done it properly. Our builders did ours and I don't think they did. An interior decorator I know has them and looks after them properly and they always look fab so don't panic. Grin

I did mine as fully tiled where needed (shower) and half tiled everywhere else with a matching border. I think it worked. The walls were just painted white as I figured it was the easiest to change later.
