Does anyone have a tumble dryer in their garage? Would you rather have it in the house if you could?

We are in the middle of a kitchen extension. We're having another small room built to accommodate the downstairs loo we're losing and I'm having it big enough to put the washing machine and a shower into it. I am trying to work out whether to also have a tumble dryer in there on top of the washing machine. I have an inherited tumble dryer which lives in the garage and isn't used very often. I've used it to dry bedding and towels in the winter, but it's inconvenient for intermittent checking to see when things are finished, and for bringing dry things back into the house. It's possible I run it for longer than it needs and things get left in there and get cold.

I had planned for the tumble dryer to go in the new room with the washing machine. Now I don't know whether I should or not. If I don't have the dryer in there I could have some worktop over the washing machine and a counter mounted sink (maybe?) which would allow for a bigger sink than if I have to put a wall mounted one in. But, I'll lose the potential convenience of having the dryer inside the house. I'm trying to work out how much that matters. Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.

"I had my dryer in the garage. All I can say is GET IT IN THE HOUSE!!!"

This ^^. We don't have room in the kitchen for a tumble dryer and, since I only use it when the weather is bad, I find it a PITA going to the garage in pouring rain.

It isn't always a good idea to have washing machines upstairs OnePlan. The floor may not stand up to the vibration from the spin cycle.

I don't know what to do now. The room the washing machine is going into will have an extractor fan in it and a dual fuel towel rail/radiator and a small openable window, so it should be okay to either have a tumble dryer in there or dry some washing in there. I get the point about not wanting washing hanging up in your downstairs loo that guests will use. We don't tend to have unannounced visitors so we'd be able to ensure there's no washing there if people are over.

I am torn between the convenience of tumble dryer in the house. Will I then use it too much? Am I going to need it more anyway with a DD going to secondary school, who plays lots of sport? We do have another room that we dry washing on an airer which is out of the way of everyone.

I think I'll leave my options open. I could try the tumble dryer indoors and if I decide it's not used enough I'll put it into the garage.
