D shaped shower?

Our house is very quirky and it seems like the only way to get a shower into the bathroom is to use a 'D' shaped one which can be used on a flat wall as we don't have any appropriate corners. They seem to vary wildly in price but I can't really tell the difference - does anyone have any advice or experience of them? Thanks v much!

I had the same dilemma and we're going to board over a small window to free up a decent corner space instead. The window that's going would have been the loo window when the bathroom and WC were separate. With more light coloured tiling and decent lighting the loss of natural light will have minimal effect - I've tested this by covering the window over with cardboard.

The reason I'm telling you this is that the D shaped showers are big and we'd end up with a really awkward space - or rather lack of it - between shower and sink. I tried everything to get a decent design!

Wowfudge that seems like a really good solution. Unfortunately both windows in our bathroom are big and the house is listed so blocking them off isn't an option. Sounds like it will work really well for you!

My next plan is to look at d-shape measurements and tape them out on the bathroom floor to see how it looks. it's not a tiny bathroom but just really oddly shaped! Good luck with your bathroom, hope it goes well.

Ah - that makes things trickier. Good idea about marking things out.

I've got a small d shaped shower in my en suite. It's a really good solution and means I can still access the window. I'd have a look in a big bathroom supplier and check the size at home (I did this then bought it on the Internet),

Alreadyaugust, can I ask which shower you got and where from? The cheaper ones all seem very clunky with big trays and thick frames but the nicer ones are so £££. Looks like b&q used to do a nice one but it's not on their website any more.

We have one in our loft bathroom. It was the only solution - the room slopes down on either side, so the only place for the shower was in the centre against a wall.

It was really tricky to find one! None of the major bathroom chains (Bathstore, B&Q, Wickes etc) stocked them (Bathstore even told me they were "unstable"), so I ended up buying online - it was an Aqualux. It has a nice low profile tray and thick glass, but it wasn't cheap.

Thanks cointreau, a quick Google shows the aqualux one out of stock everywhere too but I'll have a proper look later. Is it so crazy to want a d shaped shower? Sad
