Help me decorate!

I am totally stuck.

Moving into a new house, nothing offensive about the décor but very old fashioned. Think fringed side lights and pelmets.

Our current house was totally magnolia and white when we moved in and we have left it as such, not least because I knew we would be selling on eventually.

Now however, all being well, I don't think we will move again.

All the rooms are a decent size. I would like to redecorate the front room for the kids playroom,.

The lounge will have our sand coloured fairly retro three piece suite in.

The kitchen is currently very dark wood, and dated tiles, but thought we could possibly paint units and change tiles.

Upstairs are four beds, DD1 wants purple and DD2 wants pink, we aren't bothered and DS is too small to care Smile

Bathroom, hall/stairs/landing and conservatory are all fine.

Does anyone have any ideas on where I could start looking for inspiration? I am not a fussy person at all, and to be honest could quite easily go for magnolia and wooden floors but think I should at least try to be adventurous.

Or if you have any beautiful coloured rooms you would like to share I am all ears!!

Thank you.

Pinterest. Type in different rooms and styles into the search box. Also addictive, I'm afraid.

Thank you! I've never got into Pinterest so now is the time to try!

Have also realised there is a Home Decoration topic I should have used so thanks for the replies Blush

The dulux website is quite good. If you see a colour you like it will suggest other colours to go with it. They also have an iphone app.

Most interior designers will give a free hour consultation and actually hourly rates for one is around £35. They can often save you money as well. Worth seeing if any in your area.

Thank you Hobbes I had a look at F&B as they do similar but will be good to look at something I can actually afford!

Didn't realise an interior designer would be that sort of price Heels so will look into that. I think my friend used one recently so will have a chat with her. Could be a good plan to get some ideas at least.
